Introduction
Axiom is payment infrastructure for AI agents, enabling them to make real-world purchases on behalf of users.
Axiom is a payment platform that bridges AI agents and real-world commerce. It provides a secure wallet where users link a payment method, define spending rules, and authorize AI agents to make purchases using single-use virtual debit cards, charged to the linked card at the moment of purchase with no upfront funding.
Why Axiom?
AI agents are increasingly capable of performing complex tasks: booking travel, ordering supplies, managing subscriptions. But they lack a secure, controlled way to spend money. Axiom solves this by giving agents access to payment capabilities through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), while keeping users in full control.
Key Concepts
- Linked Payment Method: Each user has a linked payment method. Purchases are charged directly to this card.
- Single-Use Cards: Every purchase gets a unique virtual card with a spend limit. The card is automatically closed after the first transaction.
- Rules: Users define AI-driven spending rules that control when agents can spend, how much, and on what categories.
- MCP Integration: Agents connect to Axiom via the Model Context Protocol with scoped OAuth2 permissions. Works with ChatGPT (via the plugin store), Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, and any MCP-compatible client.
- Automatic Savings: On supported merchants, Axiom hunts for promo codes and first-time-buyer discounts during checkout and applies the best one it finds. Savings appear on the receipt.
